Cordelia St Queenstar Tiered Dress

This dress will be great when the weather is cooler. A soft material, but warm. So glad I went down a size as this dress is quite roomy. V neck - tick, Colour - tick, Design - tick and Warmth - tick. A pair of boots and off I go.

I thought this dress was good quality but if you live in Qld iit is way too thick a material

Good weight for autumn/winter and beautiful deep green. Cut is flattering and falls well.

Well designed to be figure flattering with stretch in the fabric so the bust area has some 'give' in it, long sleeves to cover the arms with elastic in the wrists to stop the arms drooping below the wrists (it is a perfect length on me anyway) and plenty of 'swing' in the torso and leg areas for the body to move. Overall a very FLATTERING DRESS. I bought both colours offered (navy and dark green) and went for the largest size 4X as I see some of my fellow customers did too as 3X and 4X are sold out in both colours and there seems to be stock of all the other sizes left at the time I write this review. I was so confident about this dress that I bought before the presentations as I knew it would work for me. I recommend you are honest with yourself and buy true to your bust size - I am a 132cm bust and bought the 4X and its a perfect fit across the bust without there being too much fabric in the rest of the dress. I feel that a 3X would have worked well for me too. I LOVE BOTH COLOURS AND BOUGHT BOTH COLOURS. I live in a cold part of Australia on the coast of South Australia so its not a winter weight dress here but rather 'in between seasons weight' or even summer on a cool day so as its 'freezing here' I shall wait a couple of months to wear the dresses. I LOVE THAT IT IS COTTON, A NATURAL FIBRE. I am pleased that I purchased this dress and I recommend it. I like that the person behind Cordelia Street has a realistic view of garments and the population she is aiming to provide garments for as she clearly understands the needs of people for everyday life rather than just making a high fashion statement for those fortunate enough to be slimmer amongst us with a social life that demands glamour. I am in my late 60's and I don't have the time, energy or stamina to strut about in high stiletto heels to make garments look good and better than they actually are. I've been a size 10 and 12 in my younger years and now at this stage in life I need clothing that provides what I need for my grandmother's figure. This is a dress that is practical, comfortable, flexible, flattering, easy-care and versatile. I can wear this with sneakers or loafers or boots. The colours are on the darker side which is always flattering. If offered again I'd buy a deep purple or aubergine/plum and of course black. A suggestion would be to make it an 'action back' with the first horizontal back seam slightly higher, whereby the frill drops from the shoulder blades, which gives the back of the dress a more flattering line instead of slotting into the back of the waist / top of the hips area emphasising the indentation and curves (see the shirt offered by Clarity in bright green item 558872007168). I purchased the Forest in my usual size but I could easily have gone down a size. I’m a pear shape and it’s very roomy. It’s a heavy material, great for Winter. As I will be layering it I’ll keep it rather than pay postage to exchange it. The colour description is spot on, it’s a rich forest green. Just beautiful.
