1.0ct Ethiopian Opal & Amethyst Oval Pendant 50cm Sterling Silver

Opal, the birthstone for October, is is often regarded as the Queen of Gemstones - and there’s no question as to why. Often compared to fireworks and galaxies, opal has a unique rainbow of color that leaves other gems envious.Opal can be transparent, translucent or opaque. Opal comes in a rainbow of colors. In fact, boulder opals can have every color of the rainbow in just one gem.The first known opal relics were found in a cave in Kenya. However, it is believed by geologists that these opals originated in Ethiopia around 4000 BC. Interestingly, it wasnt until the 1990s when miners rediscovered Ethiopian opals all over again despite the age of this regions relics.

• 1x Oval cut Brazilian Amethyst gemstone measuring approx. 7x5mm, with a total minimum gemstone weight of 0.56ct.
• 10x Oval cut Ethiopian Opal gemstones measuring approx. 4x3mm, with a total minimum gemstone weight of 1.04ct.
• 16x Round cut Brazilian Amethyst gemstones measuring approx. 3.5x3.5mm, with a total minimum gemstone weight of 1.92ct.
• Total number of gemstones is 27, with a combined total minimum gemstone weight of 3.52ct.
• Expertly crafted in Sterling Silver with Rhodium Plating and a metal weight of 2.96 grams.

The pendant measures approx. 31.7mm in length and approx. 21.7mm wide.
The bale has internal dimensions of approx. 4x2.5mm and can take chains up to 2mm.
This piece includes a belcher link chain measuring 1mm in width and 50-55cm in length. The chain features a parrot clasp.
