Amazonite is a type of microcline, part of the potassium feldspar family. This mineral typically ranges in colour from light green to greenish-blue or blueish-green. It is commonly used in cabochons, beads, and various decorative pieces. Archaeological sites in the Middle East, dating back over 2,000 years, have revealed its presence. Some of the finest specimens of this mineral are found at Pikes Peak in Colorado, USA.
