Natural Body Mechanics The Occiput Mechanic
Julie Williams the owner of Natural Body Mechanics, is a qualified Naturopath, Iridologist and Mechanotherapy practioner, offering deep ligament release treatments for nearly four decades. Deep ligament release treatment was the modality that helped Julie heal from on-going pain and health challenges that doctors described as ‘untreatable’ and ‘lifelong’, almost four decades ago. When Julie was 17, she landed badly during a volleyball game and became immobile. The orthopaedic surgeon treating her suggested a lumbar fusion, and said that she could be wheelchair bound by the time she was 50 if she did not have this surgery.
After many years, many practitioners and huge expenses she was treated by a deep ligament release therapist who changed her life. From that moment forward she knew in her heart that this was how she wanted to show up in the world, and hasn't looked back since. Julie knows what it’s like to experience pain that strips you of your joy, robs you of your hope and costs you great expense. She wants you to experience the same level of deep ligament release treatment that was gifted to her all those years ago.
The Occiput Mechanic
The Occiput Mechanic is specifically designed to hook under the occipital bone at the base of the skull to release pressure away from the spinal cord. This action assists in releasing neck tension and helps fluid to drain away from the face and head easing headache and neck pain
The unique shape and angle of the ‘fingers’ on the device are designed to be the same as the ‘fingers’ of a practitioner placing their hands under your skull during a treatment and gently lifting your head to release pressure.
This release assists the lymphatic system to drain excess fluid from the head and face. It also supports decompression of the Vagus Nerve, allowing the parasympathetic nervous system to ‘calm down’. This action will assist in reducing bodily inflammation, and help to alleviate headache and facial pain. The vagus nerve has a critical role in the maintenance of bodily homeostasis (balance) in diverse functions.
The Occiput Mechanic also comes with two trapezius ‘fingers’ which rest against the trapezius muscles in the shoulder, that help to relax and open the lymphatic drainage points. These adjustable fingers are suitable for all sizes of people and move easily according to shoulder width.
The Occiput Mechanic is a device you can use at home. It comes with a soft cotton bag you can use for storage or for when you need a ‘softer’ experience, just lay the bag over the ‘fingers’ (see instructions for more details).
