Jane Seymour Designs

To celebrate LA Day we catch up with the one and only Jane Seymour to talk textiles, prints and her love for the city.

What inspired you to start creating your beautiful scarves?

I have been a fabric-aholic since I was a teenager. I love beautiful textiles and natural fibres such as silk, satin, linen, lace and fine cotton lawn. I adored Liberty of London's amazing fabrics and interesting prints. So I have always paid attention to fabric and the handle of cloth. I even used to hand embroider beautiful silk blouses for Brown's in London. It was an early attempt into the world of fashion and design... that is until I was sidelined by my acting career! But I never lost my love of fashion and design.

What was the first scarf you designed?

The first scarf was Poppies and Butterflies. Both this one and The Leaves of Colour are my best sellers. They go with virtually everything. I  believe any outfit can be made special with the simple addition of a splash of colour.

What is your favourite part of your job?

I enjoy sharing my passion for art and colour with people. I get a kick out of looking at someone that is wearing an outfit that is simple or sedate, analysing them and finding the perfect accessory that speaks to their personality.

What's your favourite LA hidden gem?

I love Venice, the canals, the great food and going shopping on Amarosa.
