Guest Spotlight with Elizabeth Grant

Living legend of the beauty world, Elizabeth Grant, generously took the time to answer some questions for us...

1. What inspired you to create the brand ‘Elizabeth Grant’?

I was a makeup artist at Elstree Studios in London, England and unfortunately during WWII a v2 bomb blast went off in the streets of London one day when I was walking. The flawless skin I was so proud of was damaged, and sadly it became a constant source of personal shame and embarrassment—to the point where I avoided going out in public and living my life fully, including going to work. I loved working, I loved my independence, I loved my life and one day I decided enough is enough.

After many conversations and research, I was in my doctor’s office and discovered Torricelumn™. My life and skin changing compound, this compound finally gave me my wish back; it fixed my skin, it fixed my confidence, and I was able to go back to work. It was at work that I discovered I might have something other people could benefit from as well, and I started bottling my Essence of Torricelumn™. I started Elizabeth Grant Skin Care because I truly believe that every woman deserves to feel beautiful, confident and inspired to live their fullest life.

2. What makes Elizabeth Grant different to other brands in the beauty industry?

Two things:

  • Torricelumn™ no one else in the world has it; everyone wants it. People have begged me for the formula for the past 72 years, but we are the only people who have it.

  • We are the only company in the world that is privately owned by three generations of women who manufacture everything in our own facility. No one knows aging as well and as comprehensively as we do.

3. What is one beauty product you can’t live without?

For 72 years it’s been the Essence of Torricelumn™, I don’t care if I sound like a broken record. This stuff WORKS!!! It fixed my skin from bomb blast damage, it changed my life, and it was the first serum in the beauty industry ever. Torricelumn™. Torricelumn™. Torricelumn™. Over 24 million bottles sold, we have to be doing something right.

4. What have you loved the most about being part of TVSN?

There is such an amazing energy about the men and women of Australia and New Zealand. The best part of being a part of TVSN is how the staff and the community welcomed us into their homes and hearts. We cannot believe how fortunate we are to be able to represent our brand in such an amazing and beautiful part of the world. TVSN represents community, connection and a whole lot of fun, and is truly one of the best channels we have ever worked with. I love how kind everyone is to Marion and Margot—I know that anyone who loves my family as much as I do must be amazing people.

5. What are you grateful for?

I have lived a very, very long time—97 years to be exact. I have learned to be grateful for three things. First is my family. Without them life wouldn’t be as sweet, as full, and frankly, it would be quite lonely. I have learned so much from my children, my nephew, my grandchildren, my daughters-in-law, and my family keeps me young and wanting to keep adding those birthday candles on my cake every year.

Secondly, I am grateful for having a great sense of humour. I know life isn’t always easy or sweet, but without laughter in your life, it’s harder to get through the tougher times. I knew from a very young age, I may not be the smartest person in the room, the tallest or the typical beauty that is defined by the world around me, but if I could make people laugh, I would always have a friend in this world, and it’s served me well all these decades. Even when I have a low moment (I mean who doesn’t?) I look in the mirror and do something to make myself laugh, and you know what? Life gets a little brighter when you get to have a deep belly laugh, even if you are your own audience.

Finally, I am grateful for dogs. I have had dogs all my life, and they are so incredibly intuitive and kind, and just know how to brighten everyone’s day around them. I personally started to adopt my dogs after my accident, giving them a second chance just like I was given in WWII. It just feels right to me.

6. What is your favourite quote?

My own: “Just because the answer is no, doesn’t mean you can’t do it.”
