Art n Vintage is a young and very modern Indian brand of leather accessories, created by a married couple of professional leather designers with more than 15 years of experience in the industry We find inspiration in everything around us, be it nature or memories, architecture or street life. Being designer’s means to be influenced by everything around us from a velvety texture, to a colour scheme, from light streaks to a flock of bird’s feathers. Having lived in New York, London and Moscow and with a background in fashion, embroidery and a love of all things “crafty” I fell in love with this brand on sight and now I’m thrilled to bring this beautiful brand to Australia and New Zealand. I work closely with the designers during the season to combine their new techniques with the shapes and silhouettes for Australia. We may start with one technique and realise it works perfectly on a shape we hadn’t initially thought of. It’s an intense time getting the techniques and shapes to blend. We choose a colour palette and make a range specifically for Australia. Each individual finished piece is dip dyed and tumbled in large drums to give a truly unique, weathered effect, and picking up natural markings on the leather. With each piece of leather picking up the dye differently, each bag is truly individual. For brand creators, it is also an opportunity to support local craftsmen in the community and preserve their art for posterity.
All our top stitching, studding, weaving etc is hand done by local community artisans.
