What path brought you to TVSN?
I had just gotten back from 10 years in the UK acting on various TV shows and movies. My agent here sent me along for the audition. Apparently my passion for shopping and my ability to talk non stop was what TVSN were looking for.
On my first day at TVSN I…
was so nervous. One of our lovely customers sent me her purchase of an oil called BE calm. She thought I needed it more than her. I think she was right. If you think I talk fast now you should have seen me that day. Di, our training manager forbid me from drinking coffee as my hands shook so badly the camera’s couldn’t focus.
What excites you most about being a TVSN presenter?
That I get to see items from all over the world that we can get here in Australia. I love that I can help educate people as to how these products may be the right purchase for them. I, myself have struggled to find the right sales person for a product in a store or useful information online, so it pleases me that I can be that person for our customers.
Where would we find you when you’re not at TVSN?
The local school gate at 3pm pick up time. Any park or beach after that and on weekends I love to go the friends houses for a BBQ catch up.
What has been your most embarrassing moment on TVSN?
Oh unfortunately I have too many to recall. The lid not being on the Vitamix properly when I turned it on. The base not being on the ice-cream maker or was it when I broke some wine glasses. Hmm the list goes on……..
The REAL you:
What did you want to be as a child?
A zookeeper by day and a princess fairy by night. Didn’t everybody want to do that.
What’s your favourite thing to do on the weekends?
Just hang out with my boys and my husband. We might go to the beach, play soccer, do some DIY then either have people over or go to their houses for a BBQ. I love walking through our local food market too, though the boys aren’t so keen.
If I wasn't presenting, I could see myself:
renovating old houses. I love a bit on hands on DIY.
What’s your secret skill or talent?
I can pull my shoulder out of it’s socket. I can still do the splits. That’s about it.
Do you have any pets?
Do you have any nicknames?
To my friends I’m Sas, to my family I’m sis.
Any fears or phobias?
Snakes, snakes and more snakes. I try so hard to pretend I’m cool with them so my boys don’t fear them and so far they haven’t cottoned on that I always need to go to the toilet at the zoo when its time for the snake house.
Who was the most influential person to you as a child?
My mum, she was the woman I wanted be, she was the most loving and supportive mother, wife and person. I still to try to live by her morals to this day. Saying that unfortunately my fashion was influenced by a young Madonna.I have no regrets for the bad perm and twisted pearl braclets that I loved so much. I do however regret the blue mascara.
Your favourite place in the world
I’ve been fortunate to have lived in many countries and I’ve travelled a lot. I have loved many of them but now that I have a family I have to say my home. Right here on the northern beaches of Sydney.
Your favourite quote
"Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start all over again.”
Around my house though it’s been eclipsed but the famous quote. “you don’t know the power of the dark side"
chocolate and strawberries. Keep it simple.
Breakfast at tiffany’s by Deep Blue Something
Breakfast club. Sleepless in Seattle and The Age of Innocence
That changes almost daily. But I am a sucker for dusty tones of blue and green at home.
